Fireworks display for the portico in Leipzig
The relocation of the historical colossus at the Bayerischer Bahnhof in Leipzig and the subsequent fireworks were spectacular. 2800 tons of concrete, steel and history. Three pyrotechnicians and 200 kilograms of fireworks were in action. Relocating this historic landmark back to its original position at the historic train station took seven hours and 26 minutes and was carried out on 30 October 2009. The portico’s safe return was celebrated in style! For six minutes the sky was illuminated by fireworks that were set off at the very moment that the portico was reunited with the Bayerischer Bahnhof. The portico was moved in 2006 to make room for the construction works for the Leipzig City Tunnel. Sven Morlok, Burkhard Jung and Artur Stempel pushed the start button.

SAE Institute Leipzig
Right in the thick of it – not just on the sidelines. That was the idea of the extraordinary special effects workshop on pyrotechnics for film and television, run by Fire & Magic at the SAE Institute Leipzig. On 7 October 2009, the students of the digital film & animations department were given the opportunity to participate in an exceptional workshop. Felix Münch, who has been involved in numerous television and film productions, worked with the students to prepare a series of pyrotechnical special effects in a decommissioned open-cast mine. At the end of the day they were finally set off. Realistic shots enhance any film. The students were extremely impressed by the possibilities that special effects offer. Columns of fire and body shots were among the action shots that were tried out and filmed.

Luxembourg’s National Day
Stage pyrotechnics in Luxemburg
Celebrate like they do in Luxembourg! The National Day and the Knuedler rock festival were exuberantly celebrated on 22 June 2009. After the torch-lit parade and the welcome address by the Grand Ducal Family there were live on-stage performances by “Macao Room”, “Zöllner” and “Cluster 5” in the Place Guillaume II town square.
This impressive show included various flame projectors, Bengal illuminations and plenty of stage pyrotechnics!

On 22 March 2009, Fire & Magic illuminated the evening gala of the LIFF in the grounds of the new Leipzig Exhibition Centre with an exclusive fireworks display. The effects were reflected in the water and included columns of fire reminiscent of wild dragons, and enchanting figures dancing around Bengal lights.
The fireworks were the highlight of the evening. The programme included music, light, a theatre performance and exclusive pyrotechnics by Fire & Magic. All the visitors were enchanted!
pyrotechnics meets art
Explosion of colour at the Kleindienst art gallery
On 19 June 2009, Fire & Magic assisted the project “forwarded by a rule” by the artists Alken, Greif and Hennig with a pyrotechnical installation.
This almost vandalistic explosion of colour comprised part of the installation. However, the art gallery itself did not suffer. The exhibition was a success and we still like to create colour explosions!
125th anniversary of Konsum Leipzig
Fire art for the Konsum Leipzig
Fire & Magic presented top-notch indoor and outdoor fireworks at the anniversary celebrations of the supermarket chain Konsumgenossenschaft Leipzig on 8 May 2009. Roland Keil und Felix Münch staged a pyrotechnical masterpiece above the rooftops of Leipzig as well as in the grounds of the Media City Leipzig. The show began with the ignition of the fire performance indoors. From there, the fire moved its way outside through the peripheral glass wall. Here, to the tune of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, the stunning pyro show reached its climax. The guests were extremely impressed.

10th anniversary of the Promenaden at Leipzig Central Station
High-rise fireworks at the Leipzig Central Station
A huge fireworks display for a very special anniversary. In September 2007, together with the citizens of Leipzig, we celebrated 10 years of the PROMENADEN shopping centre at Leipzig Central Station. The spectacular fireworks were the work of Fire & Magic – and all in all they were the highlight of the celebration. The huge fireworks display over the rooftops and inside the station hall was the result of extensive preparations. Thousands of fascinated visitors witnessed an unforgettable event. The central station aflame: never before had the people of Leipzig seen their venerable old station in this way. Not surprisingly, our fireworks were greeted with enthusiasm and lots of applause.

Ground fireworks to melt your heart
Ground fireworks
Lovebirds know what it feels like when their “hearts are on fire”. Fire & Magic brought this feeling to life in a joint initiative with the companies Antenne Markranstädt, Blue Helicopter Alliance, Chrysler Jeep and the well-known local band “The Butlers”. It was such a success, that the surprised lovebird in the air was open-mouthed with amazement. No wonder: it must have been incredible to fly over a personal declaration of love in the form of a flaming heart!
The 8th wonder of the world in the right light
The town of Markkleeberg and the Terracotta Army – this event had to be celebrated appropriately with professional fireworks. In the exhibition grounds of the agra-Park it was possible to marvel at the Terracotta Army as well as numerous remarkable objects dating back to the Chinese Quin Dynasty, rulers of the Middle Kingdom 2200 years ago. Fire & Magic provided the perfect illumination for the opening event. The illumination included a skilful pyrotechnic display and traditional Chinese-style daylight fireworks. In this way the event was provided with a fitting visual framework
